The Lovettsville Cooperative Market will offer healthy and affordable products in a member-owned grocery store to members and non-members alike. We are committed to policies, practices, and values that support a vibrant community and a strong local economy.
MAY IS NATIONAL SALAD MONTH!
CHEERS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!
LCM has been operating on Volunteer Power since its inception. A dedicated corps of our neighbors and friends have been steadfast in their efforts to move us toward building the store. We would like to recognize these folks and thank them for their tireless work and support.
Alice Bagwill, Stephanie Bickmore, Mary Ferguson, Caitlin Keefe, Jill Kurtz, Laura Long Lieberman, Stephanie Markey, Wendy Neely, Sharon Lloyd O’Connor, Robert Perantoni, Colton Seale, John Tisdale, Julie Tisdale, Nancy Walkins, Tara Ward, Joanna Willard, Carolyn Woodland…and we know there are more….So, if you know someone not on this list who should be, let us know at email@example.com. THANK YOU ALL!
Welcome to our New Hire!
Annie Teeter is our Market Manager for the seasonal market opening in June. Since she has joined our team, we can have the market open more weeks this summer. Our producers and customers should be happy to hear this news based on overwhelming support for an extended season and more produce. Stop by and say “Hi” in June
MAY 12 was MOTHER’S DAY
You can still add to her day with a special gift… Such as buying her a Member-Ownership in the Lovettsville Co-op! When you sign up that special someone for a membership, we will send an e-card that you can print out and personalize. After you complete the membership form, let us know that you want the e-card at firstname.lastname@example.org and you are ready for Mother’s Day!
Market Table Bistro Farmer’s feast- Delicious Success
A packed house enjoyed the annual, fabulous farm-to-table feast on April 18. The menu featured a creamy ramp vichyssoise, porchetta with polenta, an arugula salad with a delicate vinagrette, and a chocolate caramel cake to die for! All paired with local wines. Thank you again, Jason, Rebecca and your wonderful team.
Why is your membership important?
LET US COUNT THE WAYS…..
*Becoming a member makes a member-owned grocery store possible. Strength in numbers helps as we move toward our Capital Campaign when additional investment opportunities are offered
*The Co-Op will source products from local growers and producers, whenever possible, helping support our rural economy
*The Co-Op will be a full-service grocery store, offering a selection of conventional items, in addition to organic products, to meet the needs of our entire community
*Members can participate in Co-Op workshops, educational programs & events at discounts
*Members are shareholders, we are member-owners
*We can vote each year in Board elections
*Market studies show that our community wants and needs a grocery store. Our demographics do not support a big chain grocery store, but we can have a full-service, locally grown, community owned cooperative market
