The Lovettsville Cooperative Market’s sixth annual Outdoor Market is now hosted at their new location at the Lovettsville Volunteer Fire & Rescue building, 12837 Berlin Turnpike, Lovettsville, Virginia.  The market will operate out of this location on Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM through the end of August. The Co-op has a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the LVFR to become a tenant in the existing building once LVFR relocates to a new location adjacent to the existing station.

The outdoor market will feature locally grown and sourced seasonal fresh fruits, vegetables, lamb, beef, bacon, sausage, chicken, baked goods, coffee, maple syrup, elderberry products, and honey as well as local handcrafted products. Suppliers include Catoctin Coffee, Georges Mill Artisan Cheese, Milcreek Farm, Potomac Vegetable Farm, The Parsonage, Leesburg Center Apiaries, and more.   As in previous years, local non-profits will also be invited to set up as guests to promote their services and provide information to the general public.

Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up, 2pm

Adopt-A-Highway Spring Clean-up, 2pm-4pm, Berlin Turnpike

The public (members and non-members) is invited to join the Co-op as we pick up trash on our designated Adopt-A-Highway route along the Berlin Turnpike (from Purcell Rd to the Potomac River). We will meet at Bonnie's parking lot @ 2p. The Co-op will provide bags, gloves. grabbers (limited number), and vests. This is also part of April's "Keep Loudoun Beautiful" efforts! To date we have collected 101 bags of trash since 2013.

HAPPY HOUR & CHILI COOK OFF

HAPPY HOUR & CHILI COOK OFF--6:30PM

The Lovettsville Co-op Market (LCM) will host its Annual Member Meeting on Thursday, February 23rd, 7:30pm at the Lovettsville Volunteer Fire & Rescue (LVFR) event hall.  A happy hour and “chili cook off” will be held prior to the member meeting from 6:30-7:30pm.  The happy hour and cook off are open to both Co-op members and non-members. Participants are welcome to bring a slower cooker of their favorite homemade chili at 6:30pm to be tasted by attendees, and the Co-op will provide fresh-baked bread to accompany the entries.  Guest judges will choose the winner prior to the commencement of the member meeting.  Local beer and wine will be available for purchase as well as non-alcoholic beverages. 

Those interested in learning more about the Co-op’s mission, and its plan for a grocery store in the space currently occupied by the LVFR, are encouraged to attend the happy hour.  The first three people to join the Co-op during the happy hour will receive a complimentary ticket to the Co-op’s Farmer’s Feast Dinner at Market Table Bistro in the spring.  Board members will be available to answer questions from guests and provide short tours of the future grocery store space during the happy hour. The annual meeting will begin at 7:30pm and is open to members only.

Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up, 2pm

Lovettsville Co-op Market "Adopt-A-Highway" Clean-up Event—Sunday, November 20th, 2pm, Lovettsville

Help keep your community litter-free with the Lovettsville Co-op!  Volunteers are needed to help with the fall clean-up of the Co-op’s "Adopt-A-Highway" route along Berlin Turnpike (from Purcell Road to the Potomac River) on Sunday, November 20th.  Please meet at Bonnie's Restaurant parking lot at 2pm. The Co-op will provide bags, gloves, grabbers (limited number) and vests.

To date, the Co-op has collected more than 200 bags of trash along this stretch, which is a terrific service to our beautiful community.  All are welcome!  Email info@lovettsville-grocery.com with any questions.

Fresh Wreath Making Workshops—November 19th, 10am-12n & 1pm-3pm, Lovettsville Volunteer Fire & Rescue Bingo Hall, Lovettsville

Join Co-op member, Joanna Willard, as she leads this workshop on creating your own fresh evergreen wreath.  You are encouraged to bring items from your own yard to include in the decorating--holly berries, pine cones, Bittersweet, Rose Hips, flowering sumac, etc.  The Co-op will provide fresh evergreens and materials to create a bow. NOTE:  Please bring your own garden pruners or cutting tool. 

Joanna Willard is the owner of a wedding planning business, Celebrate Slowly.  She also operates as a floral designer and occasional wedding cake baker.  Her passion is flowers and she loves helping people bring beauty to their home by using foliage and plants from their own yards.

2016 Member Appreciation Barn Dance

4pm-8pm, WeatherLea Farm, Lovettsville, VA

The Lovettsville Cooperative Market will host a Member Appreciation Barn Dance on Saturday, July 30th, from 4pm to 8pm, at WeatherLea Farm and Vineyard in Lovettsville.  This highly anticipated annual event is free for current Co-op members.   The suggested donation for members’ guests and non-members who attend the festivities is $5, with a maximum suggested donation of $20 per family.

The Barn Dance will be an unforgettable summer evening, featuring lamb sausages hot off the grill, as well as other light dinner fare and beverages.  Local beer and wine will be available by the glass for purchase.  Attendees can dance to live music by Craggy Island and other area musicians.

The evening’s festivities will take place in the historic barn at WeatherLea Farm and Vineyard, 39595 Weather Lea Farm Ln, Lovettsville, known as an exceptional event venue and weekend getaway destination, and a producer of wine grapes and fine wool.

 This event is the Co-op’s opportunity to thank its members for their continuing support, meet potential new members, and bring the community together for a relaxing evening at the WeatherLea barn.  Attendees are encouraged to drop in as time allows or to stay for the entire event. Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up, 2p

All are welcome!! Members and non-members.

Join the Co-op for their spring Adopt-A-Highway clean-up. We'll meet at 2p at Bonnie's Kitchen parking lot. The Co-op will provide bags, gloves, and vests. Our adopted route extends from Purcell Rd to the Potomac River. 
Ideal attire:  long pants, work shoes/boots, hat, lightweight long sleeve shirt.  Please consider using tick spray prior to clean-up.

***Must be 13 or older to participate (per VDOT).
