The Lovettsville Cooperative Market will offer healthy and affordable products in a member-owned grocery store to members and non-members alike. We are committed to policies, practices, and values that support a vibrant community and a strong local economy.
CHEERS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Might you have just 3 hours to spare? We need more assistance at the popular Seasonal Market. It’s easy, click Here for the Sign-Up Genius.
The LCM currently operates on the dedication of volunteers generously devoting their time to various programs and activities. For the Seasonal Market, a corps of volunteers is crucial to successfully operating our market that supports our local producers and farmers. We would like to recognize the following volunteers who have been staffing the market, or are signed up to help during the season:
Gretchen Demmin, Karys Romero, Jill Kurtz, Gina Faber, Jennifer Johnson, Heather Treadwell, Sharon Lloyd-O’Connor, Sharyn Franck and Erin Austin. Board members who may be on hand include Karen Hignite, Julie Harner, Pamela Baldwin, Ellis Burruss or Glenn Willard.
Many thanks to Jill Kurtz who has steadfastly managed the SignUp Genius for this and many other programs.
THANK YOU ALL!
WE ARE GROWING….
BRICKS AND MORTAR STORE PLANS……
The professionally operated Co-op grocery store will be located on Berlin Turnpike (Route 287) in the current Lovettsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue building. When they move to their new location on property next door (2021 target), we will renovate the facility for the grocery store. Anyone can shop at the store. However, Member-Owners will have an equity share in the store and additional benefits.
Become a Member-Owner and help move us closer to our Capital Campaign……
June 1 - Seasonal Market is Open Every Saturday mid-September 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
LOCATION: The Lovettsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue on Route 287 - the Berlin Turnpike in Lovettsville
Why is your membership important?
LET US COUNT THE WAYS…..
*Becoming a member makes a member-owned grocery store possible. Strength in numbers helps as we move toward our Capital Campaign when additional investment opportunities are offered
*The Co-Op will source products from local growers and producers, whenever possible, helping support our rural economy
*The Co-Op will be a full-service grocery store, offering a selection of conventional items, in addition to organic products, to meet the needs of our entire community
*Members can participate in Co-Op workshops, educational programs & events at discounts
*Members are shareholders, we are member-owners
*We can vote each year in Board elections
*Market studies show that our community wants and needs a grocery store. Our demographics do not support a big chain grocery store, but we can have a full-service, locally grown, community owned cooperative market
